Description
Peeling Rustoleum Red Oxide - painted with a brush! 151 4-speed with black interior. A few dents, but very little rust. I am lucky to have found this rare, stock Sunbird before The Crusher. NOTE: only 25% of all Sunbirds produced were hatchbacks. Pontiac used the term Sport Hatch.

The Engine
Tue Jun 02, 2009 1:28 am
My plan for the engine is to build a 181 cu. in. (3.0 liter) stroker using a Mercruiser 140 crankshaft (increases the stoke from 3.0 to 3.6), with longer connecting rods and KB flat-top 10.5:1 pistons, a semi-wild Schneider cam, an aftermarket Mercruiser 140 big-port, big-valve head, Clifford 4-bbl intake ( hope it works with the head), a 390 CFM Holley 4bbl carburetor and Hooker header.
Engine might be good for close to 200 HP on premium (perhaps will need an additive), but 1 hp/cu. in. would be fine with me.
