pressure plate.

Has anyone had a problem finding the right pressure plate for the Monza V8. If you know of a pressure plate that fits a STOCK flywheel let me know. I ordered one off the internet and it will not work with my Stock flywheel.

Is your stock pressure plate flat or stepped? What year is your car? The pressure plates in 75 were still the small 9 1/8" stepped style. Later cars were upgraded to a 10.5" but I am not sure if they were the normal flat style or stepped.

I thought v6 uses the stepped flywheel and v8 flat. Could be wrong, I know my 79 3.2 l used a stepped one.

Ok, I'm wrong then. When I look at clutch kits online, there doesn't seem to be any mention of the raised flywheel. hmmm...

You might want to consider having your pressure plate rebuilt, if you want to retain the stepped flywheel, I do still have the stepped flywhell and pressure plate from that stare fire if you are interested in a core to have rebuilt, $50.00 shipped to you in the lower 48 states.

1980 4 cylinder was still stepped. I remember having to pay an extra fee to get it resurfaced. I put used (!) Flat 10" stuff in my Starfire to test fit things up and it is actually working well so far....

My flywheel was stepped. However I solved the problem, I bought a new Zoom flywheel, problem solved. This car came from the factory with a stepped flywheel 10.5 on my '78 Monza Spyder V8 (305)
