Building a Pro Touring V8 Vega

Hi guys. I bought a 74 Vega hatch back base model.no motor or trans. Has anyone here built a pro touring v8 Vega ? Need input on rear mini tubes and coil over shocks . Front end is going to be a Scotty's chassis kit.. I'm going to daily driver and tow a 1200 pound teardrop camper . Engine 327 ci up to 425 up heavy-duty 700r4 trans. Thanks.

Sounds like a fun build! You'd want to be careful with the short wheelbase and light weight towing a trailer, theres not a lot of meat back there for a hitch either. Mini-tubes are a great way to fit a wider rear end under your Vega. This allows for wider tires which improve handling significantly in a pro-touring build. Consider a narrowed Ford 9-inch rear end. It's a popular choice for its strength and aftermarket support. Talk to a fabrication shop about the narrowing process and ensure it maintains proper strength for handling and towing.
