What mini are you wanting to run, Tom?

Several guys seem to prefer the GM-style that has a nose support for the gear. Seems to me they sell for around $200 at the discount parts stores. Someone else would have to give you the actual part number.

I have a Jegs Pro Strt'r #555-10021. They have gone up in price since I bought mine...currently listed at $179.

Reid,

I was just trying to get an option on them.
I had ordered one but it was 3 hole mounting and not 2 hole, it would not clear the bell housing.

I tried 7 other starters and none of them would fit, I was trying to get a number or an application for one to try.

Thanks
Tom

Just remember to tell your parts guy it has to fit a 153 tooth flywheel. I think what you want is referred to as the "hitachi-style" starter.

The Jegs starter I bought fits both 153 and 168 tooth wheels, and is adjustable to move the solenoid away from the block or headers.

Did you get my email about the RoadHawk?

Hmm, why don't the ebay links work? Anyway, search GM mini starter and look for one that has the straight across bolt pattern for 153 tooth flywheels.

I took a risk and bought a cheapie ebay mini-starter.

So far it has been good. It has the nice sound I wanted, and cranks when the car is hot, so I was happy with it.

Even the GM ones are made overseas. My Ebay one has worked great for under $100.
