Manual trans. Fluid fill ??

Postby spydertom » Thu Jul 06, 2006 8:59 am

I was refilling the trans. it had been drained, and I got 1 1/2 quarts in before it started to run out.

4spd saginaw

It this normal or should it take more :?:

I quickly looked through the manual and did not see anything.

Thanks
Tom

Sounds about right.

If it has been sitting empty for awhile, put it any gear and turn the input shaft over a few revolutions to work the oil into all the bearings. Let it sit level for awhile longer, then check again.
