This feels good!

Postby v8astregt » Thu Jul 06, 2006 2:01 pm

So for the past two days at work, I've been driving my Astre since it is only .5 miles from home and I wouldn't overheat for that stretch. Anyways, I have gotten DOZENS of comments on the car! And that's just sitting... nobody has heard it run!

I've gotten compliments on my blazer before, but I guess since H-body's are nearly extinct on the road, it really hits a spot with most people, I've had many people say "I knew someone with a V8 Vega in high school" or something like that. But either way, it feels good to have people stop and ask about the junkyard dog given a new lease on life!

So I feel proud! :D
75 Pontiac Astre GT: 406SBC/TH350, roll bar, S10 goodies, down to 11.47 so far, more to come later.

Bad ass!!! :hail: :hail: :hail: :hail: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I got that with my Vega, too.. A lot of people thought my Vega was a Mustang? :kick:

Congrats on the unique car. I'm glad people respect it.

That has got to be one of the coolest things about driving these cars. They are not so rare as to be exotic or weird, but they are few enough that they really stand out.

Anyone can build Camaro or a Mustang but it takes a real knucklehead to mess with an h-body. lmao

Seriously ....we must be nuts! But yeah the kudos are certainly nice :)

Man...It's almost fun going through emissions with one of these. You get all the comments you listed. I just wish they would be easy on the throttle.

On the island I'm at it's a real car culture, (maybe a bit too Rice-like-FnF on the last generation)

hence why people often turn back trying to identify the car.

great feeling to see them like that.
-Chevy Monza '76 2+2 V8 262ci (old) -> 355ci (oil problem) -> 355ci (piston broke) -> 350ci (current) ... LOL
-Opel Kadett E 1985 1.2Litre (Back up, had a broken condensor :P still need to find replacement accelerator pump membrane...)

My Monza in Cardomain!
