Buick V-6 motor mount

Postby barebonesracecars » Thu Jul 06, 2006 7:02 pm

Need a good, clear photo of a stock 231 V-6 motor mount.

I can't remember; is it a one-piece or two piece?

If it's not too much trouble, that will do, Brian.

I have a picture from NAPA's website, but it doesn't look correct. May be a generic picture.

Not sure how to post it on here.

Reid,
You should be able to save the picture to your hard drive and attach it to your thread, here..

It's been too many years since I pulled my original V-6, but the feet of the mount have to be basically identical to the V-8 mounts, right?

Only the upper end would be different, to mate to the Buick block.

The picture I have shows no 'H-body' feet. It's either a 2-piece, a generic picture, or the wrong mount entirely.

If NAPA is correct, these are still available....need to get a set put away for my SBB 350 project.

Thank you very much. Did you have fun squeezing your head in there?

It does appear that they are 2-piece, and the NAPA mounts are correct.

SO: I'm going to need a set of the lower end pieces...the pieces that bolt to the frame mounts.

Anyone have a set?

Bryan and Tom,

No problem. I appreciate the help.

I can get the mounts locally for about that same price, Tom, unless.....yours are the complete mount. Can you find out for me?

(And why do parts store charge different prices for almost identical parts??? Is there really $.08 more steel in the RH mount? Shouldn't the LH mount be the toughest one? )

V-6 mount pic

Postby barebonesracecars » Sun Jul 09, 2006 7:35 pm

Now that Colin has restored our picture function ( :thumb: ), this is the pic of the V-6 H-body mount from NAPA's website.

Is this a generic pic, or is this correct for the car? If it's correct, there has to be another piece, that mounts to the frame plates, agreed?

Well then, if those are correct, I'll go get a set.

Does anyone have a set of the lower pieces that bolt to the frame plates?
