Logos and stuff

Postby Buscop » Fri Jul 07, 2006 2:00 pm

So now that were on a roll how about ideas for logos and the like for T-shirts, decals etc. I know this is a can of worms but who knows what may pop up?

Josh, what are the specs on your 355?
I have a 355 and it isn't even close to that. Is that engine crank HP or Chassis dyno HP?

logo

Postby fyrftr50 » Fri Jul 07, 2006 5:11 pm

I've always liked the simplicity of the H-Body.org logo (OK, I am a Monza guy too, lol) especially since it was generic, it could be any of the 2nd gen cars, but e new logo should obviously incorporate the 1st Gen cars, maybe having a basic Vega/Astre generic hatchback shell added as a reflection to the Monza (or vica-verca since the Vega did come first) would look good with "GM H-Body Organization" in between as well as "Vega, Astre, Monza, Skyhawk, Starfire & Sunbird" between the 2 cars.
If I had an artistic bone in my body I could come up with something, but alas, I'm artsy-fartsy challenged.

Roger
That item was actually made. 64 pieces of wood made that up. It is about a foot wide to give you an idea of it's size. Cost me a pretty penny but it is an absolutely outstanding piece. I will be posting the info on the guy who made it for me, he does these things frequently now that he is retired. I just need to dig up his info. Cheers!

Im still rooting for the " 4 cars in the logo " deal. ( like the original 2 car H body oval ) Does someone own the rights to that ? Ps Russ , yours would be good too but with pics of the real cars inside ( No offense) Doug in Az 8)

Combo Logo

Postby res0o7eb » Fri Jul 07, 2006 11:44 pm

I like Bryan's idea of a combined logo of a Vega/Astre profile with the current logo profile of the Monza/Skyhawk/Starfire/Sunbird.

Can I take credit for suggesting it first? :-)

third post down.
I know. Who cares who suggested it? :-)

If it looks cool, that's all that matters.

We just need to find a graphic artist who can do it. Anyone?

put a 71 vega at a angle pointing one way and the last year of the monza at a angle pointing the other way basically it would show start to finish

1972 Chevrolet Vega

I have no problem doing that but wouldn't that alienate Sunbird and Starfire owners?
'72 Vega with '93 Camaro LT1/M29 T56/12 bolt 3.31. 16" IROCs all around. Sanderson headers into duals with an H-pipe and Flowmasters. It's loud but at least it's faster than your grandma's Buick. pwned.

I don't think it would, especially if the pic was of a generic look, like H-Body.org, like a profile shot or shadow, but then again, Starfires and Skyhawk's production was ended early to continue Sunbird and Monza production, so blah to them, lol.

Besides, the Chevy models produced the most cars, by far, and are the most recognisable in the general car community by a long shot to blah to the clones again.

You all DO know I'm kidding right? I do own a Buick Road Hawk afterall!

Seeing as how the Buick Roadhawk borrowed its hood from the Pontiac Sunbird (which used it exclusively from 1976-1978 and retained the hood throughout its entire production), I would say that the Roadhawk is truly a Sunbird Clone.

Too funny, and true.

... BUT ... hood or no hood, Sunbird production didn't start till '76, a year after the Skyhawk was introduces as Buick's Monza Clone. :p
