Are the 75 k members different from the 76 to 80? are the 4 cylinder 6 cylinder and 8 cylinder k frames all different?

As far as know and from my junk yard prowling there seems to be no difference between the 4-6-or 8 cylinder k members. This observation applies to the later Monza type H bodies. Vegas seem to appear different. TIM

I assume you are talking about the transmission crossmember. The 75 is definately different, I think is is either the same as or similar to the 74 Vega crossmember. One bolt going through a box like extension of the body on each side. I think that the later models have two bolts going up into the body with an adjustment available front and back to allow for the different engines. Not sure about the 75, mine was a 4 banger and had to do modifications to fit the V6 in as was set back farther. The 4 cyl corssmenber is straight across, not sure if the V8 is offset or not.

K members

Ive only worked on 75 and 76 Vega cars. The K-Members are different between those years. 75 and lower and 76 and up. They will swap, but you need to swap all 3 pieces. The 76 K members are reinforced on the engine cross member, and are the better choice. Lastly, I believe the later model Monza model cars are very different to support the weight of larger engines than came in the Vegas. Tom,

Speaking of V8 monza engine K members, there is a difference between the 75/76 and later ones. It appears that the center sections on the earlier ones are made by a folded stamping while the later ones are box welded. I noticed that my 75 street car center section bowed from the years of jacking up from the center and the 78 donor car did not. Looking at them side by side, its apparent that the later ones are beefier, they certainly interchange although I noticed even less clearance to the oil pan at the front of the assembly. Although I was able to swap mine, if I didn't have a donor, It looks easy enough to fabricate one from 1.75" tubing that would support a big block.
