Just finishing up my 2+ year restotration. The cars pretty much done now. But there are a few little details before its "Done".

I just started on my winter project. It a Toyota 4Runner that was rolled in a heavy snow storm a few weeks back. So, not much for H body work this winter.

not any work planned for my vegas

but i'm trying to finish a frame off rebuild of a 90 gmc jimmy (full size 4x4) for the ol lady i have been building it off and on for about 4 years now its not a perfect show car type of rebuild but i still can't let a stupid thing look crappy on it it will be her daily driver when its done

i have to bolt the body on and alot of reinstalling of parts after rebuiding or refinishing them

all the drive train is in but needs to be hooked up all the time consuming stuff

if the weather would work with me i could have it finished in a month but its to damn cold to work on it for more than a couple hours at a time even in my garage no insulation and not a real good heater
second star to the right strait on till morning

I plan on finishing up the front suspension and steering (almost done) and start the NOS install. I'm also looking for a few small parts to make the car complete. I want to drive the wheels off it this year and run some good numbers with the LS1.

Installing my new even fire high compression V6 and detailing the engine compartment again while the engine is out. Port matched the headers and made additional clearance for the steering shaft.

Fabricate a trick clutch fork that will work with centerforce pressure plates and then install my Richmond 5spd.

I finally waxed it for the first time in 3 years!!!

I also installed polyurethane bushings in the rear.

I'll install a posi in the next week or two as well.

Then I'll do some much needed tuning to the engine! I haven't tuned it since I got it running 2.5 years ago!

I got the heads back from the shop already, and I got the tranny back too. Talked to my engine builder yesterday and he told me he was just in the process of tearing down my short block. Once it's back and everything is reassembled I'm gonna order a set of lower front control arms from AJE to go with my uppers. Then I've got a leaky pinion seal to change. That should just about blow my budget.

Yes, I've got the tubular uppers that were designed by myself and AJE to correct the camber issue associated with the S10 swap. They are available with or without adjustable heim ends and come with S10 ball joints installed. I gotta admit I'm surprised that since this site became up and running that these arms and the discussion of them kinda fell to the wayside. They've been available for about 2 years now. On the other site, I saw a need for them and worked with AJE to prototype them. I took delivery of the first set and absolutely love them. The lowers were developed later. I think Darrin Pape on this site worked with AJE to engineer them. I think I gave $300.00 for the uppers. They will make you arms that have the correction built in, or, arms of stock dimension, but why you'd want them is beyond me. The corrected arms take care of the camber issue, plus, they move the balljoint rearward for added caster. The end result is much greater stability at speed. Here's their number. Ask for Jim Morrow. 1-800-877-7233 Tell them Jim Sheaffer sent you.

myvega I would like more info on the A -arms, for March-April time frame.

For this winter I am continuing to disassemble the front of the car. Nose and fenders are close to comming off then the front suspension. Every thing is going to be cleaned up, smoothed out and painted. The parts that I will be re-using will be powder coated.
This is a long-term project for the next 2 or so years.

Nothing to fancy here, like new parts or anything.

But I do have some upcoming projects. Not because of winter, but because there overdue to get done.

Basicly, get the rear facia off the olds starfire.

To do it I'll be cutting off the rear of the car with a sawzall.

Should be fun.

Other than than that, maybe some interior paint work on the red spyder when it warms up in late April.
