WHeres the build sheet in a 74 vega usually? I notice bottom of rear seat has no springs for sheet to be slipped into so any ideas????

my 77 monza had it under the carpet on the passengers side. probably not the same in your 74, but might be worth a peek?

Carl, You found a build sheet in a 77? I didn't think those existed? I have taken everything but the seat backs out of my Mirage and there is no build sheet.

It was taped to the floor under the insulator, but was soaked with some sort of oil. I will see if I can take a photo of it. Its not very legible.

Just a piece of masking tape that held it to the floor. I guess its not oil soaked, but it was soaked with something at some point because its sort of transparant, & very hard to read.

It even has paint overspray on it, so I am guessing it was taped in very early in the line. maybe was just luck to not fall out by the end of assembly.

Probably a shame that it was my car that had one if they are not common. My car has nothing matching to original, so its not an asset to me. I will say that this is the only sheet that was in the car, & I took everything apart. When I dismantled it, It was a 45K mile, one owner car. From what I was told it was never apart before I got my hands on it. I took apart a 78 Trans am a few years back that two of them in it.

I haven't checked there but my Spyder is gutted and I didn't find one. I'll have to look there.

Looks to be similar to the 75- later Lordstown sheets

(Sometime in 75 the plant printers were updated to print the full size 8.5x11 buildsheet)

Guys, were your 77's built in St. Therese??
(a '2' in the 7th position) Maybe these were Southgate Cali cars?

Well since I'm new to owning vegas my only experience is with a 73 I have and the sheet was in the springs under the rear seat. But 74 seats have no springs......

By the way my 77 has two small lower rear seats instead of one big seat... Was this normal or an option?

I have parted out the following cars,

76 astre wagon build sheet under the pass side carpet.

My 78 Sunbird wagon (not parted out) Same place

parted 78 sunbird wagon, no build sheet.

parted 79 sunbird wagon 2 sheets, 1 under passenger side carpet, 1 behind the passenger side door panel, also under the door panel were about 6 "rework" stickers.

I havent looked for my 77 Astre Formula's as I have the PHS documentation on it already, and havent started on the interior yet.

If you have the plastic panel on the rear of the front seats, I found one there and I've also found them in the door panel.

Lanse, I may have mistaken where you meant. Do you mean the interior 1/4 panel? I was thinking you meant behind the rear seat like if you remove the hinged metal part.

Same for me in a 77 Astre wagon. I even found one on top of the gas tank when I dropped it.

Guess what? They aren't supposed to be there!
Having worked on GM assembly lines, I can tell you that when you are trained for a job, you are offically told " and the rider (build sheet) goes in the garbage". However, it doesn't take long to realize that the car (or the next one) is a lot closer than the garbage can.
