What happened to the "original" H-Special Registry?

Postby tinsfci » Fri Feb 13, 2009 3:18 pm

I´ve been meaning to ask this for a long time, does anyone know what actually happened to Mike v. A. and his H-Special Registry?

Time goes by. Fast! I joined that Registry 1996

I guess a lot of you on this forum knows what website I mean. For you who don´t or have forgotten, here´s an archived version, unfortunately without pictures:

Hey Good Question. I was looking at one of the old news letters floating around my storage area. It was cool while it lasted.

The registry is why I even was tempted to save my Monza - I met Marco at a local car show and he told me about it. Before that I was going to give it away as I had way too many cars. Mike really worked hard to keep the H-body interest up, I'm sure at his own expense with mailings and his personal time. I believe there were around 140 members in 1997?

Again in 2004 I was tempted to just give the Monza away and my brother found the Bob Gumm website and sent it to me. Since then I have spent a "minor" Kings Ransome on the Monza!

Anyway, I gave Bryan McCready my archieve of newsletters last year in hopes that he would keep them for posteritie's sake!

Wait....so curse the registery then....I could have possibly had your monza?

Good thing you didnt, as it would probably have mirage flares on it by now. And been the mirage copy I've always dreamed of.

I think a news letter like that might still be be interesting.

Bryan M. fyrfytr has a handle on the registery side of things, expanding it to include all H bods, not just the H07.

I like'd how Mike focused on the H07, much like how the Cosworth group is.
It was a very strong effort by him.

Sorry, I lost my contact with him when I moved over here, I'm just going on what he told me on the phone when I last talked to him and he said he would never get rid of his Starfire. Doug in Az 8)

Mike's site and Registry is also the reason I went back to the H-Body after I was forced to sell my original Monza. His Registry was also the inspiration for me to reinvent the Registry he started and continue it to what it is today. I was a member of his Registry during the last years of it's existance and always looked forward to the newsletters he sent out. I kept all my old ones, and as Bill stated, I now have his and Doug's too. I think I now have every newsletter he sent out. Mike dug up some wonderful information, stuff I haven't heard about since. I don't know his sources but he was able to scrape together some great stuff. It is too bad he has decided to remain completely out of the picture. Too bad noone has been able to connect with him since.
