It is taller than stock. The dimensions are 26"x18". It will hang below the core support about 2 inches, but hey... I need to cool my car! And I'm not gonna buy a $500 bolt in Griffin unit if I can make this $210 radiator work. I'm gonna go outside in a little while and tinker with it. I'll let you know how it works.

Becool radiator

Postby danfigg » Fri Jul 14, 2006 1:01 am

Check my photos and see wha a Becool universal rad looks like if you dont have power steering or an auto it is bolt in. If you have power steering you have to play with it alittle for the upper hose and if you have an auto you need a tranny cooler

The BeCool looks a lot like my Ron Davis, except for my radiator has a taper at the bottom. It does not have a trans cooler, but I've read from a couple sources that the best thing to do is run a separate cooler, which I've done already.

And no... no show this Friday. :(

It would be very possible, except for me having to relocate the alternator to the passenger's side, and Summit's website says my brackets will be here Monday. Next week though! And I should be able to enjoy it... knowing that my car should not overheat!

radiator

Postby danfigg » Fri Jul 14, 2006 10:42 pm

the part # is 134-65004 it says 1 1/4 core. It is not like your normal 4 core which has 4 core that are about 1/4 wide. This is 1 core the is 1 1/4 inch wide. It keeps my 388 stroker .060 over 350 block with 10 -1 compression nice and cool. 180 degrees. Dont listen to the dimensions it says it is 26 X 19 meaning 26 inches wide by 19 inches high. I dont know why because I measured it and it is 25 1/2 inches wide by 15 inches high. If you measure the radiator cap it is 17 inches high. I double checked and it has the part # ingraved #65004. I just shimmed it using the old radiator hose cutting 2 X2 inch squares for the corners and for the hold down.--------Danny

I can see two differences between the two.

First off, with the Ron Davis, there is a taper at the bottom which means I have to do less cutting to the K-members.

And second, the radiator hose location for the bottom is set higher than the BeCool... and I know on mine, that allows me to run my front sway bar. If the hose were any lower, I don't think I could make a sway bar work.

radiator

Postby danfigg » Sat Jul 15, 2006 1:02 am

I did not have to cut anything with the BE COOL except open up the slider on the bracket. I did this because the power steering pump had to be push the opposite direction to get the belt as loose as possible. Once I had clearence for the upper hose to go around the power steering pump, I found the shortest belt the made tightend the power steering pump with no problems. I have the part # of the belt. If you dont have power steering you wont have to do this----------------------------------------Danny

What's the Ron Davis part #please ????

I've been in correspondence with Bill Williamson from Ron Davis Radiator and he's telling me a stock car radiator would be cheaper than building a custom Rad for my stroker.

Only$679.00 plus shipping  W.T.F.

You can read ALL about it under my thread in "Engine Tech". See "Ron Davis radiator install" (duh  ).
