We took a block of styrofoam, and sanded it to the shape we wanted. Next we're gonna wrap it with tape. coat the tape with car wax. Lay a coat of epoxy resin and fiberglass matte, then after that dries a couple more layers. Let it cure a day or 2, then pour gas in the styrofoam which will melt it, the pull out the tape. Wash with soap and water, then sand outside to look nice and paint it. Done

maf is something that can be eliminated , and air filter is up to you , there is alot of room to use a panel style filter inside the cowl area , then just make a funnel from the filter to the tb

my 04 goat is tuned SD(speed density) the maf is only there for a filter connector , lol

You would need to come up with some way to shield the air filter in the cowl, or just never drive in the rain.

Hey Jeff, I noticed the calipers on your rear end are behind the axle. Did you do this?
I watched the vid on your car and those wheels look very nice with the car color.

That is the way the rare 8.5" S-10 - Blazer rear ends came from the factory.

For whatever reason, GM mounted the Blazer calipers behind the axle, and pickup calipers ahead of the axle. The listings for calipers in our brake catalog lists the same part number calipers but on opposite sides between pickups and Blazers. My '03 pickup has the calipers ahead of the axle.

I spent most of the day laying fiberglass with epoxy resin over a foam core to make the air intake tube.
Modified heater box installed, ECU mounted under passenger seat also done today.
Deadline for completion april 12th 2010. Look for it in PHR mag soon in the "Under construction"

Even the latest Hot Rod had a mention of it, Jeff. It's the most positive comment for a Vega I've seen out of them in some time!

I think having a reputation like Jeff has now helps a lot. I'll bet if a few more top builders in the country started doing H bodies it would catch on. Unfortunately they are a couple decades too late.

im sure jeffs car is going to be real nice, but ireally think there should be more praise given to all the guys on this forum who made all this possible and have the best looking, and best engineered h-bodies in the country.. if more people had access to or knowledge of all the cars in our guys project journals and garage pics, they would flip out. lets hear it for the h-body forum innovaters chevy art
