BUICK ROADHAWK DECAL REPRODUCTION, any interest?

I have a place that makes my business cards, and they also do vinyl lettering decals etc....I showed them my car today ( ROADHAWK) and they said they ARE able to reproduce the decals!! The more I order the more its lowers the cost . They quoted me $1000 for the first one, but if I order 10, it costs $500 per decal kit, if I order 20, maybe $250 - 300??

Now I have not gone to body shops to get an estimate on painting the stripes on the car, but do you think it would be cheaper to go that route??

I trust these guys, if I get enough interest, I have to collect the funds to get this started.......but hey no pressure.

I know there's not many roadhawks out there, but are there ANY interests at all?

Theres only one authentic Roadhawk decal kit from GM out there, but the kook wants about a million for it?? NO JOKE. :cuss:

Well, balls in your court.....any interests?? :th:

Look's like he's going to take it to his grave! I would at least put it on Ebay.

I think your better off getting them painted on (the dark gray), then find a pinstriping guy to apply the red striping (save on some costs there). The other decals (hawk and lettering) I have on a file that you could give to any decal maker to make reproduictions. Dave and I used my Road Hawk and he put it all into a program. This is the route that I plan on going (if I ever find a dime to finish the job that is). I was told that anything that improves a cars original look will NOT detract from any value. In other words, having the decals painted on the car will make it a better investment that having reproduction decals, as long as thew work is good of course. And hell, it'll last a life time. You just will not find enough Road Hawk owners to put out that kind of coin for a set, even if there are a few that may need them (like myself). It isn't like a bunch of Skyhawk owners will jump at the chance to add Road Hawk decals to their base hawk, like some guys do for base Monzas, making them into Spyders. I would think a decent painter can do the dark gray for far cheaper than a grand when he already has the car to be totally painted in the first place.

Hey Bryan,

Yea, I agree pal......I didnt get any responces anyways.....but thought I'd throw it out there, eventually I will have my Roadhawk totally repainted, but not anytime soon ( yes, in my case as well, the house gets priority)

Just not enough Roadhawk owners out there to make this worth while.....but hey, worth a try!

And you own FOUR of them??? Yeah, just paint it on. I do like that bird, though.
I like everything about the Buick Skyhawk Roadhawk except the add-on, half quarter panel pieces.
That spoiler is cool. If there was some way to integrate the spoiler to the quarter panel without adding that piece, then I would be interested in a spoiler instead of graphics.
I guess one could make a spoiler out of wood like some sport compact 'tuners' have been know to do. Or cardboard. :D
The interior is top-notch, too. I really like the C06 glass roof on the Skyhawk.
If I didn't have already have a Skyhawk ....

If we were talking nighthawk decals, I'd go buy that car that I spotted a while back.

4 Roadhawks?? I wish!!

I own just one, with 23000 miles. The Original one I had for 12 years was so badly rusted out, I stripped it down to the body, took everything off it and got rid of it 8 months ago. I have had one Roadhawk parts car, LONG time ago...but hey, anything Roadhawk means I'm always looking for parts, either I need them or not, a hobby of mine, and a challenge.....that I like to challenge!

I own or have owned 4 Road Hawks myself, lol, like Chris, I find and keep anything Road Hawk. Parted and scrapped 2 of them (they were way too far gone to save) and sold one shell a couple years back and have the one I will eventually restore ... eventually. So I've got parts of 4 of them in my steel building.

Chris, I guess you could always email the guys on the Road Hawk Registry and see what kind of responses you get. There is also a guy in Winnipeg that I have to return a call to, he has 2 of them apparently.

You never know....maybe all Skyhawk owners will get the bug and convert. They say there are now more Tri-Power GTO's out there now than Pontiac ever built, for example. :D

Hello, I have my car on roadhawk homestead, my car was posted in BCA newsletter and did get preservation award. Non restored car. I would like decal set or even a CD in Gerber to go to any sign shop and cut. I would give phone, but internet please just use site in reply. Note carpet is rare ... Is the carpet color of real pace car 1979 firebird TA. And ACCcarpet won't cut or mold to Monza floor . Also Corvette was to only have Oyster white guts, so carpet and off white insides were GM stolen for Roadhawk. Other silver carpet come close but TA was correct. Wheel centers need to be made too, for D wheels , no one has them!
