I was just at the parts store, and as usual, started talking about my Mirage :)

Well the guy behind the counter was telling me of his buddy who just picked up a 34k Original Mile Cosworth parked in a barn in northern maine... He's had the car about a month now.

He was visiting an estate sale, and saw a car under a cover, and asked the lady what it was.. She replied "Oh, just my husband's old car... it's a chevy something"

He pulled the cover back and saw the cosworth stickers, and offered to buy it off the lady for $1500... she replied "No, that's way to much, gimme $600 and it's yours"

He went to the closest auto store, and bought a battery, put it in, started the car and drove it 12 miles home the same day.

He said the engine was pissing oil by the time he got it home, but it's been sitting in that barn since 1983, so I'd say it's not too bad.

He said the body and interior are almost perfect, with the exception of the rear dash and the headliner. Turns out it has a small turbocharger on it too... (Anyone ever seen a turbo cosworth?)

I gave the clerk the info for our site here, and told him to call his buddy and have him sign up, we'll see if he shows.

I still can't believe he got it for $600!!!!

There aren't any barns in Arizona. :(

One of the reasons I like the midwest... big old barns.

Vega blower

Could this be what is on that Vega? I ran across this October 1974 edition of Hot Rod with this in it, and the cover story plus four pages is about the new "Special H" coming out for 75. (I don't know where to post them.)

I think that we should have a Library section to put stuff like that in. In the meantime, I put them in the Resto area.
