Its awesome that people have at least somewhere to go to read an unbiased review of the car.

Not to be to picky but this isnt quite correct "1975 model year with Pontiac's rebadged Vega variant Pontiac Astre" as the Astre was produced in Canada from 73 on. At least through reading the Astre article which is correct, I now know where the Appliance wire wheels I own came from. Dave from Dave's vega village talked me into buying the set 2+ years ago telling me they were from a limited production Astre.

As patrick1151 alludes, some changes are needed.
At the risk of sounding like some of the idiots on Wikipedia, I would like you to eliminate the extremely derogatory "rebadged Vega variant" and "its rebadged variants" phrases when referring to the H-bodies offered by other GM Divisions. That's an opinion and not written in a neutral tone.
Plus, the term, "badge-engineering" and its variant, "rebadged" is more appropriately applied to cars in the 80's and on.

In my opinion, Pontiac did much to distinguish its Astre and especially its Sunbird from the Chevrolet Vega and the Chevrolet Monza. I own one of each and I like them all.
But, I have Pontiac Blue in my blood.
Besides, as everyone knows, Pontiac built excitement - not "'rebadged' variants".

Rebadged variant is not my term. It was added by another editor. I removed the term "rebadged" anywhere it was used in the article, however the Astre and other H-bodies have been referred to by the auto press as Vega variants.

Do you have a reference article in which the term 'variant' is used?
I agree that the Astre is more Vega than Astre and therefore a Vega 'variant'. And the Vega was introduced with no other GM Division 'variant', so anything that followed is a Vega variant.
I think the Astre came about more with the Canadians having a history of making minor sheetmetal changes to Chevrolet cars and calling them Pontiacs even though they still left the Chevrolet engines in them. A Beaumont is a Chevelle variant, an Acadian is a Nova variant, a Parisienne is a Ventura or Catalina variant, etc.
But, as I've written previously, I do not agree that the Sunbird is a Monza variant. Looking at a Sunbird and a Monza side-by-side, it is crystal clear to me that Pontiac did much to distinguish the Sunbird from even the hard-nose Monza. And Pontiac took a year to do it. Oldsmobile and certainly Buick didn't even try until 1979. They are true Monza variants.
One could argue that since the Monza is based off of the Vega, it is also a Vega variant. Oh, the blasphemy. Still, I like them all.

And the '76 Caddy Seville was tagged as based on the Nova...

I always thought from the getgo that the Astre was a Canadian Vega. Didn't even think there was an argument there thus my handle 'vegastre'
