A few astute (ahem!) observations:

Just 759 miles on that Vega...not even broken in yet.

How does he manage to get stuck considering the speed he was going?

Why doesn't any TV show driver, when a vehicle along side of them is trying to shoulder them off the road, just simply stand on the brakes and do a 180? (I know, I know...because it's in the script).

Mack driver seems a little tentative...he had plenty of opportunities to turn that Vega into Datsun.

Rockford was always cool!

First, it's great to see scenes with Vega's in them but this is one terrible effort of filming a "chase scene". One part shows him 'flooring it' and the speedo actually goes down! Another part they might be going all of 20mph trying to get by that Malibu. I don't think a Vega has ever been seen on TV with that much exposure at once, the piece is 6 minutes long but the 'action' is baddd!

I've always been a big fan of the Rockford files. It wan't until I got my H-body that I notice that there is a silver Vega that appears in about 75% to 80% of the shows. (maybe more) Some times it just in the background, sometimes it is drive by one of the main actors. It looks like a 73 Vega hatchback to me, buy could be a 71-72 model. So if you ever watch the show, look for the silver Vega. It will be there somewhere. :th:

That would be interesting. If it's the same car every time, it probably belonged to one of the show's crew members or even the studio.

~ More Rockford files sightings ~ Saw an episode of Rockford Files yesterday that showed a green 72- or '73 Vega hatchback early in the episode with a sound track that sounded like a V-8 was in it as it sped away. No chase scene in this particular episode...
