15" 4 Bolt Wheels

Postby Monza Harry » Sat Aug 18, 2012 11:40 pm

I just emailed a company I found out about through ebay, somebody listed a set of 4, 15"X6" 4 bolt on 4" pattern wheels with centers and lug nuts for $400.00 I feel thats an excellent price, however there offset and backspace numbers did not match up so I looked further and found the company website and I have contacted them to find out what if any of there wheels will fit our cars. There site is www.retrosportwheels.com ,lets check them out, I also asked them to check us out,as this is there main marketplace for Vega/Monza and Friends in need of wheels if you want to keep your original 13" styling for shows and 15" for more affordable cruising these people may well be the answer we have (long) been looking for. They have some good looking wheels on their site.

If you come up with fitment info for our cars, please keep us updated.

As far as I can see, these are mostly wheels for old MG, Triumph etc- which got the same 4x4'' bolt circle.
I got such wheels here on my Vega, too (due to availablily here in Europe). But I only use 14''.
In the Front it works fine- in the back I had to use 2'' spacers with longer wheel studs for clearance (due to the different backspacing).

VTO Wheels has some wheels with 4x4.00 (101.6) bolt pattern in 14 and 15 diameter. They are made in America or at least their sales office is in Arizona.
They offer mini-lite look-a-likes in a 15x6 with a 4x101.6 - check older MG or Jensen Healy link - these are a good replacement for your 13" Cosworth Vega wheels.
BTW, BF Goodrich is now making 205/60-13 Radial TA's, check their website or Tire Rack, Coker Tire. I bought a set about a month ago from Tire Rack. There's another post here on h-body.org.

Anyway, VTO Wheels has a Retro 4 wheel - which looks a lot like a Vega GT wheel,IMHO or the American Racing Libre - in a 15x7 size for a Mustang and 240Z/ B-210 in a 4x114.3mm(4.50").
So they should be able to do a 4x101.6mm in the Retro 4 - lug area is solid all the way around.
The 4.4" backspace is perfect for a 7" wide wheel since the 13x6 Vega GT wheel has a 4" backspace.
The 2.87" hub bore is larger than the Vega's 2.00", so that may be a problem due to the lack of metal. The hub bore on the 15" Classic 8 and a 13" Retro 4 is 2.64, so a bit more meat for and that may be their concern. Well, maybe not - here is a 14X5.5 Retro 4 in a 4x100mm with a 2.87 hub bore. they can do it.
Also,I assume that these wheels are NOT hub-centric since they are for older cars.

Here is my entire conversation with a guy named Barry as of 5/10/2018:

15" Diameter Le Mans or Retro 4 Wheels in custom-drilled 4x101.6 Bolt Pattern?

Customer12/11/2017 8:53:56 PM Do you custom drill 15" diameter Le Mans or Retro 4 Wheels?
I would like a set of 4 wheels - LeMans or Retro 4 - in 15x6 or 15x7 with a 4 x 101.6(4.00 inch) bolt pattern for my Vega.
I am not interest in the Classic 8 style nor any 13" wheels.

Staff (Barry Knickerbocker)12/11/2017 10:17:16 PM Thomas-

I am not certain that those wheels will accommodate a 4x101.6 bolt pattern.

I will not be able to confirm until the end of the week.

I will respond as soon as I can.

Thanks, Barry.

Customer1/3/2018 11:00:21 AM Hi Barry,

Did you find an answer to my question?
I am trying to find some wheels for my Vega that look close to original in a 14" or 15" size.

Thanks,
Thomas
Customer5/9/2018 3:02:30 PM I am still interested in purchasing custom-drilled 15" dia. LeMans or Retro 4 wheels with a 4x101.6 bolt pattern for my Chevrolet Vega. Have you been able to investigate if this is possible?

Staff (Administrator)5/9/2018 3:37:51 PM I believe that we can accommodate that bolt pattern, but we would have to use a small lug bore that would require the use of tuner lug nuts. Like these; http://www.ezaccessory.com/Chrome_Acorn ... p/2804.htm

If that works we can take a closer look.

Barry

Customer5/10/2018 12:35:21 PM Hmmmm... Vega lugs are 7/16-20. I didn't see the tuner lugs in the 7/16-20 thread in the link to the website you provided. OK. I did find them on ebay. would these be equivalent?

Bassett racing wheels makes some 15 inch wheels that fit the 4 on 4 pattern, they're steel stock car type wheels but they're dot approved... I was close to ordering some but then decided against it due to the fact that I'm in Canada and felt a little insulted by the actions of the head honcho down south towards us
