sweet thanks guys, yea I love the color, but I think when I get around to painting I'll run the same exact color but add some big heavy metalflake ..... I got these rod shows and the cars with the almost 70's carnival ride flake are awesome...(but i won't go that extreme)

ok so anyone have a solution for the foggy speedo lens? it's drivin me nuts and I know i'd have either a tuff time or pay a premium finding a good one

You have the exact same cloth on the seats as mine did, although I'm pretty sure mine was re apholstered, so that answers the question I had: was the re-apholster done with original fabric.

Looks like a solid start on a nice project.

To work on that engine, you'll need two specialized tools, specific to this motor.

One is a valve compressor, and the other is to adjust the timing belt tension.

Speaking of which, a new timing belt should be on your parts list.

The tension tool is j-23654, the valve tool is j-23591

Oh, and j-23592 for the valve springs, so that's actually three tools.

You'll have to track them down, NO ONE has them, unless they specialize in these motors.

Most of these cars were bone stock with color keyed GT wheels as standard equipment. Don’t know if these Vega’s were a special edition, regional or just a sales promotion

So, there was a limited special edition Vega called "Bright Star" for 1975 after all!

"Bright Star"
RPO Z57
Available in three colors only (#40 light blue, #47 lime green and #33 dark yellow) for any Vega model except the Panel Express. Includes special body colored GT wheels and elegant wood grain on lower instrument cluster.

Your foggy lens can be buffed back to like new. I use the same rubbing compound I buff paint with. Can't hardly do it without disassembly though.

Are those GT emblems on the fender stock? The same as '71-73? I thought after '74 they were decals.

Thanks,
