From Richard: Spyder decal kits, who needs a set now?

Postby EagleFish » Sat Aug 31, 2013 11:28 pm

Hi!

Stencils and Stripes contacted me the other day about any interest in buying Spyder stripe kits!
The stumbling block with S&S has always been the large orders they required - like 2 dozen kits.
Now, probably because of the economy, they may be open to some other type of arrangement.
Their Spyder stripe kit retails like $366.00.

My questions is how many of you H-Body owners are willing to buy a Spyder stripe kit from S&S?
I need to know before he changes his mind.
I'd like to know if we can make this work.

Thanks,

Richard

Mine is an '80, so I wouldn't want the older style side graphics, but I'd like to get the hood decal.

I dont need one, but I would change the title of this thread to something like "Spyder stripe kits available now" or similar so that you dont miss people who might be interested but dont bother to click on every thread . Just my opinion.

HI Richard, and or possibly John.. I think the spyder kits availability is a worthwhile idea and Roy has suggested a great idea that should help, so I went ahead and adjusted the title for clarity and maximum exposure...hope you dont mind!

Marco,

Yes, that was fine. Thanks.
I see that 174 people viewed this thread but only one person spoke up.
I do not know how long this offer from S&S will be good, as they are hungry for business now.

Roy,

Thanks for your feedback.

monzamaddogger,

If you want a 1980 style hood decal, S&S does not make one. If you want the earlier style, that might be possible but, can't say for sure. If we get enough people buying kits, I will let you know. Thanks for your interest.

polly4,

Thanks for your interested. I have you noted for a black set.

I will let this posting run for a while and check back with everyone.

My Black 77 got hail damage on the hood 3 months ago and the Insurance guy told me to find a hood and order a stripe for it... I laughed .... Not sure if they would pay for it still ( I haven't fixed it yet ) But either way I'd be good for a gold set for my 77' .

H! all,

Unfortunately, there are not near enough members responding who want complete stripe kits to make it worthwhile for S&S to print any kits.
I was really hoping this would have worked out.

Thanks,

Richard

I think we're all a little jaded by S&S's act over the years. They had numerous orders on the go and cancel every time, then they say they will do a run, and cancel yet again. Fortunately I bought one of their very last kits and that was over a decade ago now and they have been wishy-washy about making sets ever since.

With the technology available today I can't believe it's that big of a deal to get any decal made, especially if you have a good one to use as a template.

Next thursday i will be seeing a friend of me who is into advertising. She creates advertisement to put on cars, trucks or buses.
To make my 1980 spyder perfect i need some new decals. There're not perfect anymore. I know the have a very expensive new laserprinter bought to make supersize stickers.

I keep you informed. Hope new technologie can help us.

Is Stencils and Stripes thinking about discontinuing the decal sets? If so I would think about ordering a couple sets of them!

There is another thread floating around regarding Spyder stripes (viewtopic.php?f=1&t=41215).

I have just ordered a spyder decal for the hood and Ralph responded with a possible run in March but he's unsure whether or not there will be individual decals made available. Hopefully he's not stringing us along again (lol ... like a spider stringing it's prey).
Reality is like a bar of soap. Sometimes it's hard to get a grip on it.
