Categorizing car parts for inventory purposes..

I think I can make a complete list... If you can add anything go ahead. My list is mostly for 2+2 models.. Wagons will have even more categories.

This list is useful for organizing the garage. For those with substantial stashes of parts organization is key. A category for every part of the car.

So Here goes. I'll list the categories general name followed by a dash and what would be included.. Some categories will probably get subcategories... no particular order.

Glass - Any and all glass
Glass Hardware - window mechanism parts , windshield spacers.

Belt's

Hoses and Vac Lines.

Body Seals, and rubber items - Door and hatch gaskets, and those little rubber bumpers found on the doors, deck lid and under the hood.

Body Trim and clips - Windsheild mouldings and clips.. Body side mouldings, wheel well chrome. Door edge gaurds. Roof / trunklid racks. Headlight bezels, Grilles. various chrome mouldings and strips.

Side Mirror's

Body Emblems and Nameplates

Bumpers and related hardware.

Body endcaps - Front and rear urethane covers and Hardware. And all other metal plastic

Body Openings - Fender's and related hardware. Decklid and hardware, Hood and Hardware. Complete Door's. Fender Liner's

Door mechs and locking hardware

Hood Locking Mechanism's

Lock Set's / Keys. Incl Truck Lock Mech's.

Body shell

Body Add-on accy's - Spoiler's / Airdams ect,

Headlight's

Taillight's

Bulb's Int/Ext.

Electrical Harnesses /Interior -Incl Switches. Some parts may be included in interior subcategory, "dashboards"

Electrical Harnesses /Exterior lighting.-

Electrical Harness /Engine incl - Engine grnd straps Spark plug wires could be included here.

Engine related bolts hardware
Accy Brackets - Alt ,PS, A/C (Subcategorized as needed)
Misc Gaskets
Oil Pan's / Timing Cover's / misc cover's sheilds.

Manifold's, spacer's, carb heat gaskets
Aircleaners / filters
Throttle cable brackets and related stuff.

Fuel Delivery:
Fuel Tanks
Fuel Senders incl w/pump
Fuel Lines / steel + rubber venting and delivery.
Fuel filters

DRIVETRAIN:
Transmissions auto and manual.
Bellhousings
Flywheels
Flexplates
Tq Converters
Driveshaft and Yokes
Rear Axle Complete or Related Parts.

BODY MOUNTS:
Frame Ears
Motor Mounts
Trans X member and hardware
Trans rubber mount & hardware
K member
Core Support
Upper radiator frame / header bar..

SUSPENSION:
Shocks
Coil Springs
Rubber isolation - Spring top covers, torque arm bushing.
Sway Bars + hardware and bushings.
A Frames &Trailing Arms
Torque arms and hardware
Dampeners (if anyone ever keeps these) (hangs down off tranny)
Trailing arms
