Monza wagon

Postby Del B » Sat Jun 28, 2014 5:11 pm

Just started a new project, a 79 Monza Sport Wagon, I was wondering what parts will interchange with a wagon from other models.
I'm looking for a amber marker light lens. thanks, if youi have one you want to part with or sell let me know.
thanks, Del

Yes a weather strip is avalable new from soft seal although it takes some time for it to mold to the shape of the hatch. It may close hard for a while till it crushes to shape. the marker lamp is the same as 1975-77 VEGA/ASTRE and 1978-79 Monza/Sunbird wagon. you can find them on ebay

Is the weather stripping the same as a 2 door cope as it is on the sport wagon?
thanks,

It is the same for a 2 door Vega/Astre Coupe and your wagon, not to be confused with a 2 door Monza or Sunbird coupe. The 2 Door Monza coupe door seals will not work for your car. Keep in mind that your Monza Wagon is Basicly a Vega Wagon from the Windshield back.

The GM part number you need is 927920. there is one listed on ebay for the lamp.

These are not reproduced and NOS ones go for big dollars. After a lot of searching I found 1970 MOPAR Plymouth B Body (Duster) side marker lenses that are almost the same size as Vega. They come in amber and red and are reproduced. You will need to slightly bevel the edges of the Mopar plastic backing and drill two holes. You will also need old worn out Vega lenses as you need the back plastic which is the bulb holder which then mounts behind the fender. Sounds complicated but actually pretty simple.
