Heritige Edition Monza spoted for sale

Postby cos2482 » Tue Jul 22, 2014 11:36 pm

Saw this Monza sitting for sale off and on for a few months’ doors down from where I work. Not mine and I am not trying to sell it but may interest someone here.
Looks to be a 5 liter automatic 1976 painted Mahogany Metallic with a Heritage Edition (RPO code 07H) interior. Odometer reads 43K. Typical New York State rust of 25 years ago. Sits on Route 9 in Castleton, NY. the foot of the hill, at Latch’s Auto. His sign lists his phone as 518-477-8069. It is located about 15 miles East of Albany and is within a mile of I90.
Anyway, here are a few pics I took tonight on the way home.

Ut oh... Monzaque trip or new Monza!!

Just a 4 hour drive down the thruway.. Looks like it could be driven home.. I had one this exact color, except it was one of the 2339 Spyder's for 76.

How cool would this old bird be painted red white and blue, with Mirage flares, and that rather..funk-a-delic interior. How rusty is it?

Marco,

Saw this Monza being driven past the shop that I work at several times last fall. The car was parked up the hill and outa sight at Latchs shop for the winter. I have not seen it on the road this year.
It does have rust on the rear iner flanks, some on the bottom of the doors and front fenders. It looks no worse than a Vega or Monza that spent 7-10 continuous years thru upstate NYs taxpayer funded "Automotive Decomposition Program" (SALT).
Then again it looks alot better than a 15 year old Vega or Monza would have under the same "Program"
The car appears to be complete all the way down to the wheel well moldings.
If you ever get a chance to take a long Sunday drive, give me a heads up.

It's so rare to find one still in the wild, especially in this nice of condition. You should add some of these pics to your page, Bryan.

Has anyone on here stopped in and personally looked at this car?

I'd consider it for a project just because of the "heritige" option.
Personally like the coupes better but this has potential.
