I have actually considered it several times over the years. I purchased several factory spoilers and one was even a NOS one. The thing that always scared me was the way those things get wavy, even the NOS one wasn't perfect and I am not putting on a wavy spoiler. So, every time I had one I ended up selling it. I was always sorry I never bought a DOBI fiberglass one and then they stopped making them and gave up the H body business I guess. I found this fiberglass one earlier this year and figured I would see how this one was. The fit is not that good but I figured I could work it and get it to fit the contour of the hatch without having to flex it or anything. So, that is what I have done. I don't think this will have the wave issue like the urethane ones. I am not totally committed to it yet as I have not drilled any holes
However it does look promising, I now have to see how far off the end pieces will be and how much work those will take to line up perfectly with the main piece. I know they will need work too but as you mentioned I have already gone 40 years without it so a little while longer won't hurt.
