How to Remove Monza Quarter Glass Trim

These must be the most inaccessible parts on the whole car! :bang:

There are two screws holding the moldings at the front underneath the side vent louver so remove it first to get to them. You will need to remove the pillar cover to get to the vent screws.

Unfortunately, the rear V section of the window molding is held on by a stud and speednut. It will be necessary to remove most of the rear interior to expose. :bang:

There are no normal window trim clips holding the moldings. Instead, some urethane glue holds it in place.

Take a long utility knife blade and run it along between the glass and the molding on both pieces, (blue lines) a couple times.

Start with the top piece and apply a bit of downwards force on it while heating the area of trim defined by the red circle with a heat gun. It doesn't take much to soften the glue and it will let go. Move your gun and your hand applying the downwards force along the molding until you get to the other end.

Repeat the process for the bottom molding.

I just removed these today I wish I saw this first. I used a tool that pops the plastic clips to remove the plastic trim so that I could access the speed nut. Once all screw are removed just wiggle the molding and it will come out and you will find all kinds of crud leaves and rust...lol----danfigg
