Congratulations To Hammerdown!

Postby Biscayne John » Fri Oct 17, 2014 11:30 am

I just received my latest issue of Cosworth Vega National Magazine and noticed the Dick Baumhauer had earned the Robert A Maloy Award from COVA. It is a pleasure for me to put a face to a name now. When I purchased 0718 I had encountered a few "issues" while trying to get it on the road again, the car was sitting from 1984. I had joined COVA and found this site. Dick a long with many others is the reason as to why I kept my Cosworth. As a long time Chevrolet collector I had a few four cylinder Chevrolets over the years, a 1917, a 1926, and a 1928 but the Cosworth was a different challenge for me. Thanks for your help, and contributions to this great hobby, and congratulations for a well deserved award. Looking forward for a day I can personally shake your hand, my friend

Congrats Dick!!!

Dick is a great guy. He helped me out a lot early in my project with leads to sell CW parts and resto tips.
He talked me into keeping my 3 link and glad I listened to him.

Dick's always willing to help a fellow Vega guy out (even if it's not a Cosworth).

Congrats. I met Dick about 10-15 years ago. I sold him a set of Koni shocks for an "H" body on ebay and he picked them up at my home. I found he was an auto-crosser, and he ran several events with us in his wicked fast Cosworth until he moved from North Carolina. A really nice guy, and knows Vegas as well as he knows Cosworth Vegas!

and congratulations for a well deserved award.

Add me to the list !

I haven't met Dick either but I feel like I know him from his very well written sharing of his mechanical knowledge on H-body cars all years. A valuable resource here.

Thanks for all the kind words, guys. Just returned from visiting my son and daughter-in-law in CT. I have finally been able to sit down and get caught up on all the postings over the past 10 days, just ran into this thread.
Thanks again,
Dick
