Well here is some pictures I feel will work to help you fix your bump steer. I tried a Mustang rack an pinion an could not get rid of the bump steer. No matter whe re I mounted the rack an pinion. So back to the junkyard got a chevy chevette rack an pinion. This rack seems to work as the inner tie rods measure up close to the same as the lower control arm bolts. I just don't like the mounting set up on the chevette rack so I'm thinking about spending the dollars and have a custom rack an pinion made for these h body's cars. Also I'm using gen1 camaro spindles with 67 gto steering arms but may make my own steering arms so I can move the rack an pinion to my liking.(made template one out of wood for mock up purpose only) I'm using factory stock outer tie - rods from a 94 camaro with the chevette rack an pinion. I don't believe a racing heim joints should be used on the street. Walmart or k - mart cheap laser pointer. Clamp to the rotor. Mark about 10 lines on a board about 1/4 apart from each other. With no coil spring in the car, move the spindle assembly up an down in the ride height you choose. Watch the laser dots. If it's good they both will move to the next few lines the same. If you have bump steer one laser dot will move to the next line while the other will move two or three lines. All in all. They need to move to the next new line the same or very close to the same. I have heard that you will never get the car to have zero bump steer (not sure how true that is) This I believe will work an I will be putting it to the test in the next year.
