The differences are slight, most auto stores or whatever will probably tell you they are all the same. However the difference is multiplied within the fork and linkage.

Yenko I know that the tunnels on the '75 Monza (and friends) is different from all the other Monza's (and friends) but I am not sure if the Vega ended up with the rotary tunnel or not, I don't think so but I'm not the person to know this. :dunce: Sorry! I am sure someone will let us know. Harry

The '75 Vega did not get the '75 Monza enlarged tunnel. I don't know what the shifter mount is like in the '73 but in '75 the mounting plate bolts onto the tunnel so you should be able to use the '75 plate on the '73 tunnel, may need some minor modifications.

Dick

Edit: I may have that wrong, I'm sure the '76 has bolt on plates to switch between 4 and 5-speeds, on '75's there may not be a removable plate.

Yenko
Bell housing casting number 360162
cable is 49" overall. cable housing 40"

I didn't realize there were a few different length cables. I can tell you I had this one all in place and ready to install when I figured out that it would run right thru the middle of oil filter on LS Motor. Seemed to fit and route fine. ( other than the filter thing)
I went hydraulic .
I don't remember if I mentioned it in other description. The bell was blasted and painted when I bought it. Top pass. side bolt hole has been welded. Very nice repair. shouldn't be an issue im sure.
I learned later in project that LS motor was 168 tooth. Monza bell no fit. I used the fork in a modified Scattersheild set up.

Is that 49" cable designed for a early design clutch pedal with the pulley? Seems rather short....

I would think that the 49 inch cable would be for the 4 cylinder Since the clutch fork sits in the middle of the bell and not down low like the v8 bell. Wich would need the longer cable. Or maybe what Clyde said posably for pedal without pulley. I know there are 5 different cable lengths But don't know all the lengths and what they all fit.

I had the later style pedals. No pulley.
Yea, its seems short after seeing these posts, but like I said. I had it in position and hooked up. Seemed to have a nice loop in it, not pulled too tight or kinked. IDK?

I went thru my file. I have 1 pic you can see cable in place to see how its was routed.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

That's definitely a tighter loop than mine makes. May work ok, just saying. Generally you can use a longer cable as long as it is for the correct pedal style. The cables for the pulley style and direct pull style are not interchangeable. However, using a longer one designed for the pulley style is ok, you just end up with a smoother radius between the bellhousing and the firewall. You need to have the correct amount of cable between the firewall and the pedal so that it can wrap around the pulley correctly.
