console with 5 speed

Postby monzaaddict » Sun Feb 22, 2015 2:56 pm

Is the shifter hole further back on a Monza if equipped with a t50 5 speed?

Was a console available with the 5 speed?

The 76 monza brochure says console available with all transmissions.

I can't find a picture of a 5 speed console car.

Was the t50 available on the v6 or just 4cyl cars?

Also would a 4cyl 1975 monza have had a 7.5 or 6.5 rear? I can't remember ever seeing a 6.5 in a monza - just vega's. anyone ever have a 75 4cyl monza?

I had a 78 Sunbird with a V6/T-50; I think it had a console, but that was 20+ years ago.

I had a '76 Monza 4 cyl. with a 5-speed with a console. I know it had a 7.5 rear axle. I currently have the T-50 with a console in a '76 Cosworth. '76 & up had different removable tunnel plates between 4 & 5-speeds.

I was always under the assumption that all Monza's had a 7.5" rear. I followed the introduction to Monza's when they came out in Sept 1974 and that was the first year for the 7.5".

I believe the T-50 shifter hole is further back than a 4 speed. The bolt in plate that fills the hole in the body might be different too.
