ITS DONE it's finally done

Postby beakerztoyz » Fri Apr 10, 2015 6:57 pm

Image after 18 years my project car is finally street legal (never getting anything from out of province again) so even though there is other stuff that i will now do..... it's actually done, it is insured and registered and probably the worlds safest sunbird (that still has 4 bolt wheels) I'm so happy I could almost cry :D

I think the 1980 Chevy Monza Town Cars style cars like your Sunbird are the most underknown and underrated pony cars ever produced .
The fleet;
1975 Buick Skyhawk 3.8 V6 turbo - total restore ongoing (soon!)
1996 Fleetwood Bounder 36' Ford 460 TBI motorhome
2004 Harley-Davidson Heritage Classic 88ci 1450cc. - custom original.
2005 Ford 500 Limited (wife's car) - working original.
2006 Chevy TrailBlazer EXT LS VorTec 4200

Thanks guys, that pic of it on the trailer was taken in front of a local hot rod building/ speed parts shop where my friend had to pick up some stuff on our way home and one of the guys in the shop saw it out the window and said thats a nice looking car ya got what is it, and i said it's a sunbird.. kinda the same as a monza and he said it was a much better looking car than any monza he'd ever seen. ( kinda gave me the impression he'd only seen hatch back monza's)
I was pretty stoked that he even noticed it considering there was a painted up tri five bel air with dual carbs and a newer kaase boss nine mustang parked in front of thier shop that they were doing work on.

it's not the fastest car and not the nicest but I might display it in the local car show this summer during our local street machine weekend (even though I'm not really into being in car shows) just so people can see it because the notchback cars seem to be fairly unknown and I have never seen one in the show before. I am definitly looking forward to seeing how people react to it, some guys like subtle cars but I'm not one of them.

Also a big thanks to everyone on this site for all the help and advice, I've learned so much from you all and this site has a great community feel to it
