Speedometer reading faster than should

Postby watpress » Mon May 04, 2015 9:51 pm

I have realized that my speedometer is reading quite a bit faster than it should be. Would that mean my odometer is clicking over faster as well?

What causes this and what's the best way to fix this problem? I can use a GPS for speedometer, but I'm not sure there's such a thing as a GPS odometer?

I believe that means your tires are not the spec ones for the car and the Outside Diameter of them is different therefore changing the amount of rpm's of your speedo cable which then shows different speed. Either that or your tranny has been changed and does not have the correct speedo input drive gear inside it.
