I've been talking to Kevin today on ballpark prices. I'll let him take a closer look at the donor car that Michael dropped off first so he can get a better idea of the time & materials needed before posting my best guesstimate, but hope to have something soon.

Hey guys, thanks for checking in. The short answer is 'not yet'. Kevin and Chad still have Mike Allen's Sunbird hatchback to use as a template for parts, but the hope was (as I understand it) that a sponsor (read: paying customer) could be talked into converting that chassis into an IMSA Monza for SEMA and/or upcoming shows/competition. What they (ie. paying customer) wanted to go with instead was a C-3 Corvette, so the team there at Hot Rod Chassis and Cycle have been busy at work building that car in time for some upcoming events, to include SEMA and some races for the The Ultimate Street Car Assoc. (hopefully within the next month).

Having said that, it's still in the plans to build H-body suspension parts, and based on my last conversation with Kevin, the bolt-in 9-inch rear end would be the easiest one to tackle first. Once they're ready to commit, he'll look for a number of committed customers (I certainly will be one of them) so he can build a jig/template and build them to speck - probably sans the brakes though as everyone has different needs/wants there.

I check in with them from time to time and I'll ask him what that status of things are and get back with everyone here.

Ken

Yup. That's when they debuted their chassis with the HRPT. The entire car will be done in the month or so. If you're a fan of the old road race series of the 60's & 70's, it pays homage to the famous Owens Corning Corvette.

Bump^ Curious on price/availability if the bolt in rear end upgrade happened.

While it is an older thread these items are of interest to me;
- bare 9" housing with all mounting brackets, owners can build up as money permits and tastes change
- bolt in front control arms for the C4 spindles, I'd have to think more owners prefer the stock look over the wide IMSA.
- K-member with rack and pinion mount, excellent upgrade for even daily drivers.

As an owner of an 05 GTO the rear diff when built right can take alot of abuse in a GTO. So in a Monza, it should be indestructable. The only issues with the IRS diff of the GTO is the plagued wheel hop. Now lets add some extra weight to the mix and your going to have a Monza in the 3200-3300 pound range once the cradle and all other needed componants are added to the mix. Im just thinking the reason alot of people went with the Monza is because of its light weight. ---danfigg
