Wow, wonder how they decided to use that car? Funny, and good catch.

I made contact with the adv. agency, here's the reply:

"Hi Mr. Baumhauer,

Thank you for your note below, it was passed on to me from our American sister company.

The TV spot you are referring to is one that was shot in Toronto, Canada to support the Canadian Marshalls locations. The 15 second ad you saw online is also on National TV in Canada and will be on air until November 8, 2015.

The Director of our TV spot selected the car and presented it to us as her recommendation. She felt that the vintage look and feel of the car felt more on brand then using a newer model car, and we agreed. She also loved the juxtaposition of old and new and felt the car would add some interest in that particular shot.

Very cool that they replied, and that it was deliberate.

I thought the whole ad had a '70's vibe to it.

They say the commercial was shot in Toronto; how many red Cosworths could there possibly be in Canada? Odd that none of our Ontario forum members recognize the car.....

Kool little blurb!
I think I recognized the distinctive "spoke" rims saying Cosworth...pretty quick ad though...definitely a good eye for catching it, thanks. Do you have Marshall's in Vancouver?

What struck me funny is the response to Dick's inquiry they list the company names Canadian American Canadian from a company started in Boston around a hundred years ago. Winners and HomeSence are Canadian companies they acquired back in the '90's. And I am glad we get Positive attention anyway we can! Harry Just some interesting reading for those so inclined http://www.tjx.com/about/tjx_history.html

There's a few of them out here, I think they showed up a couple of years back. I've never been to one but I'm sure my wife has. :(

Here's another reply on the car,

"Hi Michelle,

In follow up to the below, the car used was a Vega Car purchased from Gentry Lane. Attached is the business card. The car was $10k.

Thank you!

Sara"

Beautiful Cosworth. At first, I was a little shocked at the price($10,000), but considering what a comparable year Camaro in that kind of shape would sell for(double that), it not a bad deal. Some think all Cosworths should be black; I think this one looks spectacular in what is normally a boring color(firethorn)usually seen on a 4-door sedan.
