Rear Louvers

Postby heapster » Tue Apr 26, 2016 3:43 pm

What has the going price of Louvers been lately? I have a never installed set of the aluminum (cragar iirc) louvers, still has original tape, still has the key, pretty has only the original box and one on the little rubber bumpers missing. I'm thinking for the right price these want to find a new home. Just need to find that owner and the right price.

Hard to say really because they rarely come up for sale. I've owned 3 sets of louvers for my car over the last 30 years and the last set that I bought used was about 10 years ago for about $100, but they were the good aircraft aluminum ones and not the Cragar set with the plastic end caps. (used to own a set of those as well)

Wow, most of those new ones are going for close to $400 for most cars. Personally, I don't care for the looks but I do admit that they would offer added protection from the sunlight for the interior.

Call this guy... am guessing he'd sell these louvers for pretty cheap.

Or THIS guy, who not only has the rear hatch louvers, but the rare side quarter window louvers as well.

You shoulda just told him to throw them in the garbage. I've seen rare parts for stuff on kijiji before and they sit there for months, it becomes obvious no one in the local area has any use for it... I mean it's great that they wanna sell that whatchamacallit for your 1960 whatever corvair or whatever it is but really there's not another one around for 500 miles. Makes me really unsure what to think of those people as obviously they have no interest in either making money off of the parts they have, or in helping someone else to add something they want or need to a rare car.

While I can understand listing on kijiji just to make sure no one local needs that I don't see why anyone would turn down a buyer from far away if the buyer was willing to pay shipping as well as a fair price.

Exactly beaker, how many Monzas can there be in Regina?

I was willing to pay Kyle Harre the asking price too.

I think the whole process of online payment / shipping scares some people. I can't imagine not having a PayPal account these days.
