There is a reason we can not make sense of this, GM couldn't keep it straight! http://monza.homestead.com/files/adTowneCoupe.gif http://monza.homestead.com/files/adDressy.jpg http://monza.homestead.com/files/adrefl ... urtime.gif and http://monza.homestead.com/cabriolet.html

I believe so, Dick but only based on my search for glass for my car, but me not finding a fourth style doesn't preclude it, and I am sure others have done that. The above links are from Bryans site and are of original GM lit. http://monza.homestead.com/monza.html Harry

The last picture on this Link http://monza.homestead.com/cabriolet.html shows a Sunbird coupe with the small windows and a full Vinyl top.

And I found this Picture of a Monza Town Coupe with a Full Vinyl Top and the small windows. But I don't think they made many

I believe there are two different roof stampings depending on window size.

Dick

As far as I can tell, the "formal" window rear 1/4s are a different part # than the large 1/4 window ones. They are all steel around the inside with the trim off. I know I read somewhere that I think the first couple of years with the small window, they had a full vinyl roof. Then, from like '77 to '80, they had a targa like trim half top. I had a '80 Sunbird coupe, with the small window, and it had a half vinyl top, and where the shot stud rivets held the clips for the roof band rotted through the roof, so I pulled it off, fixed the roof, and went with the small window with no vinyl roof. It kinda looked funny with the small window and no top.

Actually the rear quarter panel goes all the way up to the roof ridge, and has the small or large window hole in it.

I prefer the larger window, but your Towne Coupe is top notch and looks great with the full vinyl top and those larger than stock wheels and tires. I like the ride height, too.
I peeked in your garage - nice buy, by the way.

I really like the front-end on the 75-77 Monza Towne Coupes and wouldn't mind owning one. I'd put a 396 in it.
Another project I've thought about is to take the 78-and-later two-light(round) Monza hatchback and put a 75-77 Towne Coupe front-end on it. I'd put a 396 in it.
Or if it had a factory V-6 in it, I'd go the easy, but less-traveled path and put a 455 in it.
Oops, old thread that I hi-jacked. Sorry. Two strikes.
Well, 3 strikes if you count that Camaro project post. :D
Am I out?
OK. Back to the dug out.
