I "hobble" as well, sometimes with a cane, sometimes without. Nothing two new knees and some back surgery couldn't fix. It does take me a few seconds to haul myself out of the car, but probably no slower than a large driver extricating himself from a 7.50 cert "Funny Car" cage. We even have a paraplegic guy around here who races a sub 10-sec. Fox Mustang with hand controls.
The 'hobble" has some advantages; there's always lots of help being offered when I'm loading/unloading the car or walking around holding the hood or lugging heavy stuff around. Everyone seems to be looking out for me.

Happy birthday, don't let your friend bother you about being too old or hobbaly to drive a racecar...... I mean just look how old that greek guy with the nitro dragster is.. he's got at least ten years on you and still drives a racecar! Honestly I think it's important for people your age to keep active and stay involved in hobbies they enjoy it's great for the body and mind! I'll check back in on monday to see what kind of times you run this weekend! :th:

hey breaker. wont be till next weekend at the earliest. Spence. the way you describe yourself is like describingm me but i am advanced into the senior hobble a bit more than you(ill bet). if you seen me getting into my car you would shake your head, and watching me get out would probably scare you. your crowd of friends and acquaintances sounds just like all the folks i know at the track who always just come over to help, even the kids are nice enough to come over and help on their own. they dont even need to be asked or told by their parents. nicest bunch of people i have ever met. art

thanks for the encouragement guys. i really love this car game and really want to keep at it, especially with this vega thing im into. all the guys on this forum really make it easy to do hard things with these h-bodies. art
