I wouldn't think there was a difference, since the difference in transmission position was taken care of by the mounting bolt selection. If any V8 5 speeds were made I would think it was the same cross member. There couldn't have been many made.

This thread shows the difference in the 4 & 5 speed 4 cyl. cars. http://forums.h-body.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=44007
Don't know how this applies to V6, there were no V8 5-speeds, the T50 didn't have the torque capacity to handle the V8. I also think the V6 5-speeds had different gear ratio's.

Based on the pics Smiley supplied ( :th: ), seems to be a five speed. The distance from the end of the parking brake release button to the start of the shifter hole is 1 5/8".

As to why, just trying to see what I have and what I need.

Sorry for lack of pics.

Thanks,
Larry

Do you want a 5 speed cross member. There is a guy on ebay which I bought some parts for who has one which he has not listed yet. If you want it I will find out how much he wants.
