Few pics of the new metal in the engine bay

Postby sugaryuk » Fri Jul 22, 2016 10:30 pm

Spent a few hours getting the Vega all sparkly. Me thinks the new sheet metal in the bay looks purdy. Probably last time it'll ever look this good[:(]

Saw that on the other board. I still can't wrap my head around That engine in a Vega! The 350 (not a "mild" one) in my Monza is a handful on street tires. If it ever would hook without MAJOR chassis mods it would be a pretzel...
I'd like to see what's under that beast!
My A/C works though...

Looks great! Is that stainless? If so, what thickness?

Thanks,

Wow..that's sparkly clean. :th:
That looks like way too much work for me. I've washed my Vega approximately 6 times in the 13 years i've owned it. It takes a lot of neglect to get the 70's Pro Stock barn find look i so love.

Yes, it's stainless, called lazer mirror finish. Not sure the exact thickness, but I measured it with a feeler gauge and it's about .035 , pretty stiff.

It's got 1-3/4 x 3" square tubing welded in front to back and a 4 link rear. Keeps it pretty straight.
