Hey all, looking at the DeKon Monza road racers - in all the photos I find online, they all appear to be running 4 lug wheels. I know these cars all ran custom tube chassis and suspension, did they cut custom hubs to run 4 lugs? Anyone have any detail on DeKon chassis and suspension? Thank you.
The hubs were probably some stock variant or possibly turned from billet, harder to find are the 15" 4 bolt wheels as there were no tires of a size that fit on these cars [stock] the IMSA's weren't stuck with the same issues [much bigger wheel houses due to the enormous flares ] Harry

If you study IMSA rules from the year (1976) you might find a requirement that the vehicle retain the factory wheel lug count and spacing. Later vehicle updates for other series or vintage racing likely allowed updating to a greater lug count
Byron that is from a "Yahoo" search and those are the images that popped [Yahoo Canada none the less]. I am old and "Google" was the "kids site" not anymore I know but I am clearly stuck in the past, with my 1970's car and my wanting of a 1970's Chevy Van! "Can you dig it?" Harry

Harry, I am right there with you on being old...if I remember last time I did a search on google I got the story/history of the Dekon...those images are cool...
There used to be one here, years ago, that looked like Red Dawson's car. Just maroon. No numbers on it. He was a machinist here and drove it maybe 3 times a year.

But my car is half white and half gray....I wasn't pushing my car I was just trying to remember the other Vegas that have a body kit (hooker Header) on it...
thanks BBCowboy. nice pics. im not used to seeing that big front spoiler.guess that part of the design has a definite function. sure love all these h-bodies. art
Art, I have been picked on about my front end looking like Jay Leno...ha ha....as for function as for mine it was designed for air flow into the radiator, brakes and suppose to help with down force on the front fenders... I understand your feeling about the big front air dams...my first Vega had a chin spoiler so it was different...
