There is a new book soon to be released by Eric Peters call "Doomed". To use his words, "It’s about good ideas that were poorly executed or fell victim to poor timing". There is a complete chapter dedicated to the Monza. You can find it at the below link.

Reality is like a bar of soap. Sometimes it's hard to get a grip on it.

Great more unfounded opinion's, on what happened.... I should read it before assuming anything perhaps I'll like it, but I got a feeling I'll be cringing

Hmmm...
Actually a pretty good article. Seemed factual to me and well written and researched. Personally I think if the Monza had never been produced then the H-Body platform of the 70's mostly would have ben a failure financially for GM. Monza's were everywhere in the 70's and as I remember it very popular but not considered a performance car perse'.

I agree, a very good article although a lot of the comments run through the normal ones by the un-knowing crowd. His mention of the IMSA as a heavily modified Monza didn't quite make the grade since it was a tube chassis car, a great race car driven by great drivers.
