Auto weld does make a ford 9 inch housing for the vega and can shorten the overall width if desired, comes with all the bracket hardware but they do not sell the brackets separately for some nutty reason, those brackets can be made up from 1/4 inch plate steel mocked up from cardboard templets yourself if you have the skills and equipment to do so, welding them on the housing needs to be done carefully by someone profesent in pinion angle placement.
I am not aware of any brackets sold aftermarket at this time, maybe someone here knows where to get some???

Monzamouse makes nice brackets, if you have the skills and equipment to weld them on without warping the housing. He makes 4 link and torque arm type brackets.
They are a good option if you are going to use an 2wd S10 rear end or 8.8 Explorer rear with 2 short side axles. Strange and Moser now offer a 12 bolt housing with the torque arm type center section.
I would use adjustable upper control arms to fine tune the pinion angle.

Auto weld uses a later style aftermarket wide web 9 inch housing. Their upper brackets are welded onto the angled web so they only fit correctly on that housing, they don't sell brackets separately.
If you want a bolt in 9 inch housing and axles it is nice to know someplace still makes one for early 4 link Vega's.

The brackets will fit any 3 inch tube which includes the chevy 8.5 and 12 bolt car.
Some of the 9 inch fords have a wide web and some do not (currie CE-UHR56lnx).
You need at least 15 inches from backing plate of 3 in. tube on each side of the
Diff. for the uppers to fit. I know no one will use them but the Mopar 8 3/4
is also a fit. The s10 rear may be a little less than 3" but they will work
and smiley mentioned the 8.8 in the previous posts is 3 inch.
There are still a lot of the used 9 inch out there that will work.
The Currie is just an example showing that the web is smaller.
Just my .02 cents worth.

Thanks

Just to add a little more info to the above.

Moser makes a very small can for their fab 9". 15 1/4" from one side to the other. All my brackets are moved in 2" in towards the can from the stock location. Larry's brackets fit great still with a little room to spare :th:

I know we are all money tite. My .2cents
this was my thinking......
Buy an old rear end. $$$
spend hours disassembling, torching and grinding old brackets off and cleaning.
spend hours and $$$ to cut to size and install bearing ends.
spend hours fabricating or $$$ buying brackets
spend hours fitting and lining rear housing up in car to place brackets, weld etc...
spend $$$ on custom axles.
prep and paint everything
hope you haven't got it too hot, warped anything, or placed something in correctly.
Pay yourself a conservative $40.00 an hr for custom work. and add it all up.
I am totally capable of doing all this, just didn't make sense to do so.

The Jig welded 9" from Auto Weld is absolutely beautiful, with options for width and end bearing pieces(depending on brake set ups). with Moser axles.
comes to you clean and fresh, ready for paint.
Bang for the buck. Best money I spent on my entire build.
I spent 1/2 those hours mentioned above doing easy side jobs to pay for the 9 " while I waited for my it to come in.
