Appreciate the response, Dennis. Am very glad to see you still involved with the site, even if your car is on temporary "young child" hold. ;-) The best part of this site is the ability to search topics and archive the years of accumulative knowledge here. Yes, younger internet users want instant gratification and post easy-answered questions without first doing a little research, but as long as we direct them to the links to the discussions where the questions/topic was already answered, we can slowly convert them. (maybe)

Anxious to see the upgrades too. Am happy to lend a hand if necessary. I'm not a web guy but am still willing to do what it necessary to keep this valuable site up and running.

I would also like to thank Dennis for his efforts; the fact that this board doesn't require a lot of intervention makes it a pleasant daily stop on the information highway for all of us regulars.
I'm sure there are lots of boards out there with rampant infighting and drama that require censorship and the liberal use of the "ban hammer".
Speaking of Message Board drama, I see the infamous ex-member Vegavair Bob has joined one of the Facebook groups(Chevy Vega Owners Club AKA"vega Nation"). I wonder how long before someone will offend him? Maybe I will try... I just might troll him with an offhand comment about cutting up a Cosworth or something else the purist in him will take offence to.

Dennis Thank You! And Spencer Be Good! I'd like to say that I too would like to help but I just don't have the necessary computer skill set. :dunce: but I could help with a little financial assistance [very little this is an H-Body site and we are notoriously cheap! ]This is too important to me to lose! I will add my thanks as well to Dennis, it's the behind the scenes things that often go unnoticed and unappreciated. I also look forward to hearing about cutting up a Cosworth

I surprised this forum has no sponsors to advertise h-body parts for sale..

and please leave the Cosworths alone, better to let them rot to pieces with the non running rust infested rat infested engine compartments, than to put a chevy v8 in them..

I really was joking about the Cosworth thing; I don't have one to cut up. If I did indeed own one, it probably wouldn't get a V8 swap. Ecotec maybe........

I didn't know who the moderator was either, but thanks for keeping the site running Dennis! On another note, one of our banned members recently joined a Vega FB page I look at occasionally. Posting many photos of his Millionth Vega, Panel Wagon, etc. Hasn't shown his evil side yet, but it'll happen eventually. Heck, he was a nice guy around here for a while.

I mentioned the appearance of said former member in this thread a few days ago. By the sheer number of posts he has made it looks like he's trying to take over that fb page. I also noticed that other than some intetesting historical photos, it's now waaaaaay too many pics of his own vehicles.
I don't know if he was ever actually banned; I think he just deleted his account when things got off the rails with name calling and personal slurs.

Same old attitude. Never a compliment for another Vega, never able to back up what he says, and to read what he says, the Vega was the best car ever built by the best auto maker ever. I jousted with him for a while over there, but I think I pissed him off regarding the old days of Showroom Stock road racing. That and the foolish decision to use the aluminum engine rather that the 2.0 Chevrolet wanted. Wonder how long before he tells those guys that they don't need a car faster than his '74 Corvette, and the 2nd amendment needs to be abolished. I think by the end of November. Any other guesses?

How long before there's some kind of incident? Depends how many beer I have tonight.......All it will take is for me to suggest that one of the dozens of the nice, totally stock Vegas he's posted would make a great drag car with BIG tubs and a hole in the hood!
Or I could remind him of the fact that the Vega was horribly deficient in a couple of very important areas; specifically, corrosion resistance and engine longevity.
Don't get me wrong; I LOVE the Vega- They look fast standing still, and actually handled very well compared to any of their competitors.
In stock form, I wouldn't want one; to me, any Vega I see is a candidate for major modifications.
I'm sure there's a few members that do not agree with me, but we're all adults, and can agree to disagree.
