The Under dogs Of 1972

Postby 1100kaw2 » Mon Oct 03, 2016 11:01 am

A cool pic of a fellow car guy I ran into after the show at Quaker steak N Lube.
His 72 Pinto is all stock, except the wheels. (obviously). 44k mile car.
I guess these 2 models were probably never supposed to live this long eh.
I dig the Pinto.

The second one drove past "Hammerdown7 and I and was an "Estate Wagon?" [woody wagon]. Harry

Ken do we need a "Translation" for Mac-Tac into American? :haha:  I just don't remember if that was a "Bi-National" product or not. I just re-read my post and I should clarify that it was a "Pinto Wagon" that went past while we were chatting away and missed the "photo-Op". Harry "Edit" All those Pinto's need now are a flame paint-job,...... on the back!

Back in High School, my best friend had a '74 pinto hatchback when I had my '74 Vega sedan. That picture sure brings back some good memories. Years later, I ended up with that Pinto. I wanted to fix it up for my son, but my wife said 'ABSOLUTELY NOT'. So I intended to make it a drag car. I was going to appropriately name it 'SPLOSIVE. Glad I found my Vega before I built the Pinto. Probably for the best.

Darrell You Slay ME! I guess if you are going to drive a "Pinto" you had better have a sense of humour about it! I bet they say the exact same thing about the Vega and it's sisters/cousins. They can laugh all they want I think the Vega/Monza styling has stood the test of time much better than the Pinto/Mustang Duh (II) but I have been noted to be a LITTLE biased! Thanx Darrell that is priceless! Harry P.S. All this Pinto talk reminded me of this comic's line about defence spending [back during the "Cold War"] his punch line was that all we needed [he was an American, Sorry I don't remember who] instead of a bunch of expensive tanks and aircraft was a fleet of remote controlled Pinto's with a high speed reverse gear! He figured the Russians would S :censored: T their pants seeing that coming at them!
