Actually, I bought it last week, but it finally came home today. I had posted about this car several months ago, but the deal finally is done.
We (my friend and I) had to put the carb back on, change one of the tires, fill the other tires up, fabricate a new cable with a shutoff switch for the electric fuel pump, and install a new battery. But after a bit of cranking it started up.
Hasn't been driven in almost 7 years until today, but it drove the 18 miles back to my house just fine. Brakes were a bit squishy and the throttle cable had to be convinced to work properly, but otherwise it was very smooth.
Not sure if I'm going to keep it, but it was headed for the scrap heap in a couple weeks if it didn't get taken out of the yard it was sitting in. Needs a lot of work, but definitely worth saving.
Either way, I'm excited about it, happy to have kept another classic from doom.
