That tends to depend on How much history are you looking to find out, and where you live. Some of the 50 states DMV's actually kept reasonable records back then and still have them accessible for a fee of course... Other states, like mine, have nothing (except your taxes,lol). One good thing is that since your car was built in Canada, GM Canada should have some useful information about your car.

Original owner information is usually the hardest to find. Trim tag and Vin can basically tell you about the time the car was built.
