Powerbyace vs Hooker engine mounts

Postby 6D9 » Thu Dec 22, 2016 1:43 pm

Will be in the market for a swap kit in the future. I like the clean look of the Powerbyace over the front mount. Anyone running it and how do you like it?
How is headers clearance with this kit?? Thanks

I do not believe powerbyace offers headers at this time for his sbc mounts - email him and wait till he responds. I am not a fan of the hooker 2129 engine swap headers and front mounts. V8 monza frame plates, bob gumm or powerbyace monza replacement mounts and hooker 2135 headers (1 1/2" primaries) would be my choice for a sbc. Ditch the sbc and go aluminum ls and use powerbyace mounts and headers.

I may go LS just not sure. I have a pretty stout 406 sbc on the engine stand at the house. Im going to do this build on a fairly tight budget so doesnt usually mix when doing the LS swap.

I have Sanderson headers with Don Hardy mounts on my 73 they fit well.
2135's and Monza mounts would be my second choice.
I do not recommend Chevy Vortec heads as the spark plugs are relocated 1/4 inch closer to the exhaust ports so spark plug clearance becomes worse.

Thanks man. Good info. I have a set of Brodix Track 1 heads for the sbc.

There is a small problem with that though Smiley, the Vortec and derived cousins are where the power is at. V8 H-Body = bleeding while you work, I haven't found a way around that yet! Harry
