Would like to start collecting parts to do a five lug conversion. What year/ model S10 parts will work or work best? I assume to do the rear I will need the whole rear.

Thanks,
Larry

Larry My 2001 [2WD] has the right front, [I believe this carried up until 2004] for the spindles and the base single piston calipers. Now if you want the dual piston front calipers you may be out of luck, I have only seen them and the rear disc on the 4WD variants and almost exclusively on the Blazer rarely on the pick'em up. These may be out there but they are rare, I recall checking the parts store sites to no avail as well, so you may need to get creative if you want all the best offered I also don't believe there is an easy way to do the Blazer dual piston on the 2WD spindle either. The 4WD has a wider track width [flange to flange, the wheels have a different offset as well to adjust for this] than the 2WD versions and they have "Unit Bearing" assemblies instead of wheel bearings as we know them, so the 4WD spindles aren't going to be your favourite solution either. Others will chime in with more info but this is all I can help with right now. Wish I knew more! Harry
Harry later wrote:And Larry I just looked online and there is two styles of backing plate mounts for these trucks I have no idea on the year split for this 1986 is different than my 2001 is all that I know. :(

I look at the parts list on the v8monza site and the parts list I found listed up to '88 parts. I am looking at 2wd parts trucks -gmc & chevy- from 2000. I am Guessing that I can not use the rear end or axles but I could use the front end parts like Harry did. Is this right? This is for my '73.

Thanks,
Larry

Larry,

Up to '88 used 26-spline axles, like the H-body 7.5" axle. 1988 and later used 28-spline axles, which you can use if you upgrade to a 28-spline differential carrier.
