Gaskets

Postby cjbiagi » Tue Mar 21, 2017 9:48 pm

I am in contact with someone who wants to reproduce H body gaskets for the parking lamps, taillights, heater core box (was there a gasket used there? I don't remember one on mine). Anyway, whatever gaskets there are but he needs something to make a template from. If anyone has any old gaskets they would like to donate to the cause let me know and I will forward them to him.

Sorry can't help with spare gaskets, but for what it's worth I did make up some side marker light gaskets from some thin sheet neoprene that I was happy with and where easy to make up.
Heater box housing the one in the engine bay I believe is an adhesive and not a gasket, I used some strip rubber tape as a gasket to seal mine back together, though a proper one piece gasket would have been nice.
Taillight gaskets are like a molded piece if I'm not mistaken and probably tough to reproduce, could use some new ones myself.
Hopefully another member here can help take this further.

The CVOA has heater box seal rebuild kits from a company called RePops. I don't see them in RePops catalog, so they may be a CVOA exclusive.

I may have an old turn signal gasket for 1st gen Vegas. Front and rear. It'll take a few days to locate them.

Since I have not started my restro yet I can take the gaskets off of anything I find from my 72 Wagon. I'll let you know in 2 days what I have.

The metal heater box that attaches to the firewall under the hood does not have a gasket..I just used some stip caulk aka dumdum..there are some gaskets that are used when refurbishing the assembly that I got from the CVOA
