Honestly if you think the front is too high, [actually look under the car before your final determination] I feel that drop spindles are the best fix for this as they shouldn't alter any other geometry in the front end. And in all fairness I haven't done what your asking about. [going to have to make some change in the future] Harry

You must have the Monza "deep pocket" control arms if you have the V8 springs in them. Does it having any bonce to the front end or is it stiff?
I tried the V8 springs in my 73 V8 Vega after changing to deep pocket lower control arms and it was way to stiff and topped out. The forum here pointed me to V6 Monza springs and they are just right.

it has stock 74 a arms on it with v8 springs.. Its stiff as hell.. I just acquired this car from my dad.. I'm looking to get it running and then over the winter address the ride issues and change to 5 lug.. Hoping to be able to drive it around next summer..

At first I had normal S10 spindles and it was too high so I swapped out to drop spindles and I am much happier with the ride height.

However I am using coil overs rather than coil springs so the ride height is adjustable.

2" drop spindles will do just that, lower the front end 2" but it will not fix the stiffness.
The V8 springs were made taller to work in the Monza deep pocket control arms.
V8 Monza springs should be shortened for use in 74 Vega shallow pocket control arms.

I have 2" drops on my 79 sunbird with v6 with AC springs. Ride height looks great but it does tend to bottom out over certain road dips such as coming off rr tracks and back roads. I'm actually considering going back to normal height s10 spindles and allow the springs to settle more than I did last time around. Then add a little tire height to see how it looks. Last time around it looked like a gasser but I really didn't drive it a lot to see where it settled to. I thought the drops were great until the springs settled and now they are just a tad too low for cruising not to mention getting a freakin floor jack under the cross member.
